Tokyo Said What???

“American Soul” is it everything we anticipated it to be? Mar 25, 2019 By #Tokyo American Soul is a new television series that airs every Tuesday on BET. It that tells the story of Chicago native Don Cornelius and his creation “Soul Train” and the struggle African Americans faced in the 70’s. . I am proud to say I was born and raised in Chicago and it does me great honor to pay respect to the legendary Don Cornelius. I grew up watching Soul Train each Saturday morning on television in my west side home. As a young girl I was so excited to see a show on television that broadcast talented music artists and dancers who looked just like me. I learned how to dance by watching Soul Train. Don Cornelius was a television pioneer in showcasing the African American music culture and bringing it to the fore front of American television. He dedicated his life bring his dream to reality by ensuring that black people were shown in a positive light. Soul Train first aired in 1970.

BET “American Soul” picks up where Don Cornelius played by (Sinqua Walls ) aired his last show in Chicago. This new series is filled with drama and suspense as they do a rewind into the birth of Soul Train history. More fact than fiction “American Soul” in my opinion is one of the best tv shows to watch, now. There is a total of 10 episodes with each one being better than the last. Just 3 more episodes left for this season, I’m hoping the show will be back for a second season. It’s everything I anticipated and more. That’s how good it is! In the words of the late Don Cornelius “” YOU CAN BET YA LAST MONEY, IT’S GONNA BE A STONE GAS HONEY”
